About the Webinars
This on-demand two-part webinar series was presented in collaboration with Siemens and featured expert speakers from IndX and Siemens. The sessions explored tools and techniques used in battery design, safety, and development. The content examined how multiphysics analysis and digital twin technology are applied to challenges including thermal management, energy density, sustainability and fast charging requirements.
Session 1: Multiphysics Approach to Battery Thermal Management
As battery integrators push for more powerful batteries in demanding applications, ensuring safety and performance remains a priority. This session explored how multiphysics analysis supports battery performance modeling by accounting for heat, stress and flow simultaneously. The webinar reviewed how this approach models both normal battery behavior and runaway scenarios as an alternative to traditional methods. The session discussed how multiphysics analysis is used to support development phases while maintaining safety considerations.
Session 2: Battery Design and Development Using Digital Twin Technology
This session examined how digital twin technology is applied to evolving battery industry challenges such as sustainability, energy density and fast charging. The webinar reviewed how digital twins connect processes from materials development through cell definition and design validation. The discussion covered the use of systems modeling technology, computational chemistry and physics-based electrochemical modeling to support battery development and validation workflows.
