Our customer is a designer and manufacturer of bearings and engineered products for machinery-intensive businesses. Much like Engineering IndX, this innovator specializes in the implementation of customized solutions across industrial sectors such as Aerospace, Space & Defense, Automotive & Industrial Machinery, and Medical Device Manufacturing. The bearings manufacturer chose our Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) team to identify and implement digital solutions that will improve system connection, data synchronization and visibility across their enterprise operations.

In the first phase of this transformation initiative, our Manufacturing Operations Management experts conducted a series of Industry 4.0 Assessments at the customer’s main industrial bearings production facility. After gathering requirements from various business units, reviewing system integration capabilities and mapping the interconnectivity of the customer’s production processes, our team was able to deliver a comprehensive digital manufacturing solution roadmap that outlined the right software products for their unique needs and next steps forward. Upon customer approval, our team was also selected to lead the implementation of the chosen solutions.
First, our technical team configured and deployed Siemens Opcenter Execution Discrete as the customer’s new Manufacturing Execution System (MES). In addition, our Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) experts implemented Siemens Opcenter Advanced Planning & Scheduling. Next, our team began to build out a number of advanced system integrations between the customer’s MES, S&OP, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) & Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monitoring technologies. This process also involved the simultaneous training of the operators and end-users. In the next phase, our experts will integrate the customer’s existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions to the new MOM ecosystem, enabling the connection of systems, processes, people and data across the entire Digital Thread.
